EDIT: New total: 21,237 - I got to work on a new chapter and finally introduced a new cast member (along with a new species) that will be making many return appearances.
I've also noticed that yahoo doesn't want to change my avatar name without me creating a completely new account. /sigh

It was 19,997 after I finished typing up all my handwritten pages from the last few days but I couldn't just leave it at that. Three words short of 20k? No way. Once again my running total does NOT include chapter titles, headers, and section spacers. Hyphens are counted but that's because trying to pick through all that text for every single little hyphen would be extremely annoying.
It's done! Yay! Here is the excerpt page in html. It's rather long but it's not everything I've written so far. I did write part of a later chapter on the first day that isn't included. That would be spoiling a plot turn down the road. Linkage!
