NaNoWriMo 2023: Day 18

The month is just flying by. I ended yesterday at 38,500 words and as I haven't begun any writing for today (been busy with other things this morning) that's where it still stands. I keep telling myself I'll have a "light" writing day to relax and recharge a little and instead I keep getting to the 2250 word goal I set for myself. Get to that point and I'm done for the day even if my brain is like "but here's the next sentence!" because yeah that's nice and all but ending on a round number that makes the day-to-day tally easy to keep track of saves me so much headache I'm willing to settle for smaller amount some days.

I prefer to be at 50k by Thanksgiving so I can coast through the holidays instead of trying to cram in what I can when I can.
