My ending word count was 62,250 so I got well over the 50k finish line. I coasted the rest of the month adding only 1500 words a day with one exception that went all the way to 2000. As for the writing short mini-pieces I think it turned out well and helped me flesh out side characters and background a little more.
The longest segment is just over 8000 words so there were times I was spanning multiple days per section with this strategy. I'm happy to be on the other side of November though as I was definitely running out of steam.
