I spent most of last week indulging my wallpaper-making fetish using art from Chaos Legion. They're on my photobucket page under a dedicated wallpaper folder and are all 1024 by 768. I have a few more ideas and unfinished files in photoshop that should be done sometime next week.
Linkage!
In other news I started new runs in Vandal Hearts and Kenji's Journey (dragon) in Battle Realms.

Tore through the first 6 battles with Kenji only having to redo the Swan's Pool once with a narrow victory the second time. There's alot of Wolf units for the pidly few defenders you get and they'll all ignore you and attack the building. I distinctly remember this battle being easier if you're on the Serpent path.
Some weird stuff happened earlier that made those battles way too easy. In the second battle (opted to head west and attack Shinja's main fort) a spear rush easily overran the few defenders. In the third battle I skirted around the main Serpent encampment and attacked the northwestern edge to find Shinja himself sitting in a guard tower. The AI never opted to use the watchtower charge and Shinja has no ranged attacks. Makes me wonder if I bugged out the AI and caught it when it had Shinja suspended.
Fourth battle I chose to head west to attack the Wolf and recruit Arah (seriously, who thinks Garrin is useful when later on there are ZERO horses for him to summon). Kenji almost died once because I wasn't paying attention but other then that it was pretty easy. The only sticking point was attacking the northern camp. There's a ballistaman in a tower there and without access to geisha they HURT. Lost quite a few units before the tower was destroyed.
Fifth battle begins and I rush the southeastern Lotus outpost and crush it before any Lotus peasants arrive to begin collecting water. That seems to really mess up the AI. In the time it took me to build a full city, or as full as you can at that point, and max out the population I was attacked twice. Sending a peasant on a suicide scouting mission revealed hordes of Lotus peasants just standing around doing nothing. The Lotus city fell pretty easily to a single force. I only had to rush a single back-up geisha when one was killed by a tower blast.
I'm about to start the battle to take back Serpentholm. The game has *finally* given me chemists so now I can do real damage against buildings instead of watching spearmen and dragon warriors futilely beat on a structure for five minutes. It's sad when a group of 5 archers, with no fire arrows, an destroy buildings faster then the melee squad.
