ladyabaxa: (little cazic thule)
My wordy semi-rant about FF Tactics has been updated today to clean up the page's format and tighten my arguments. I didn't add any new points but I did reword some sections to better reflect what I think about the game and to flow smoother.

I also made some minor updates to the Street Fighter stuff as I get ready to work out some of those pesky details about cyborgs I've been putting off for the last year.

While I can't argue against your points (as they're all quite convincing), I never thought to actually question the nature behind why Tactics' story turned out the way it did.

That being said, I will comment on Alma's funeral. I agree that with every major political figure "officially" dead, Delita's rule would pretty much go unchallenged. At the same time, I always figured the church itself was behind the "funeral" as a way to cover their tracks. The Glabados church can't exactly say "yeah, our pope was killed by his own knights templar that happened to be possessed by a bunch of demons through the power of the stones they carried". Likewise, they can't openly admit to Ramza's role in that whole mess, especially because of the stones' role and how they were integrated into the story of St. Ajora (and as Alazlam's narration mentions at the beginning of the game, Ramza was basically the fall guy according to the history books).

Either way, impressive work.

Thank you. I know my arguments aren't 100% rock solid and I might update them in the future. One thing that your comment reminds of, though, is that the church officials might not actually know what truly happened.

Hmm, this requires some thought.
