So as I have mentioned previously I do plan on doing NaNoWriMo this year although I will probably be without internet access for part or all of November so I'm not exactly all in a rush to get my NaNoWriMo account up to date.
Anyway I was thinking about this and the context that NaNoWriMo is intended to get people used to writing on a regular basis and was wondering just how many words I've written so far for Beyond the Beyond. I was keeping word counts (as accurate as word counts can get, that is) for awhile out of general curiosity and decided what the heck might as well get that rough count up to date. So here it is thus far:
update 1 to update 17: 75,274 words, 832 pages w/images
update 18 - update 24: 31,741 words, 338 pages w/images
update 26 - update 38: 37,793 words, 618 pages w/images
That comes out to 144,808 words and 1788 pages. Since the first two counts were taken before I started systematically going through to edit things it can only be taken as an estimate at best. The page counts are skewed because 640 by 480 pixel screenshots eat up page space quickly. Still, I didn't even notice just how many words are in the Let's Play until after taking the tally. I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise. That project has been ongoing for over a year now.
