So my last post on this subject was kind of depressing, wasn't it? I hadn't even started writing! Well worry not because last night I cleared 20,000 words. The target for day 8 is 16,667 words so I am well ahead of the curve thus far. Now I'm sitting here with the nagging thought that if I hunkered down maybe, just maybe I could hit the halfway point before the weekend is over.
Then I laugh because I know myself better than that. The best I've ever done is slightly over 4k words in one day and the middle of the word count is always the hardest part. All the starting ideas have been written but the follow-up scenes aren't yet concrete enough to just dive right in so I have to stop and take some time to think about them.
Oh well. I want to hit 50k by November 20th though so I can tell the validator what's up. It's a pride thing, ok? I'm still on schedule to accomplish that so I'm not going to push myself too hard about getting up to 25k by the end of the day today.
