Beyond the Beyond: Update 78: Nose to the Grindstone (Discipline Island pt. 2)
The last time we saw the team Finn tried his hand at the Test of Discipline and managed to stumble his way through with a minimum of fuss. It's not every day that Beyond the Beyond goes easy on the random encounters so now I'm expecting some horrific disaster to strike the team the moment they step out of town.

There's still been no sightings of Shutat or the stolen battleship. Somehow that entire ship has managed to vanish. I suppose it is a big ocean in which ships sink never to be seen again on a regular basis but the team simply isn't lucky enough for their enemies to succumb to the wrath of nature. Shutat and company are... somewhere. We just can't find them because of plot flags.

When last we saw our adventurers they had made a long trip along the northern coast of Gebergheim and Greenheim. Although they didn't find any clues as to the whereabouts of Shutat and the lost battleship they did come across some elves, a sidequest that cannot be addressed until much later, and an odd little cave. Now however they have another target for their journey.

At the end of our last episode the team found another village whose map and layout doesn't match what's on the overworld map at all. On another note, just like with Leaf Village, no one in this settlement ever bothers to mention its name in game. Fortunately all the names are listed in the destination list for the Light Orb.

When last we saw our team they were scurrying into Luna to find some respite from all the monsters that had been trying to kill them out at sea. Luna might be a hive of scum and villainy but no one's tried to kill them there (yet).

( Read more... )Our cliffhanger last time had Rune in the Air Castle trying to figure out how to defeat the Xe-A-Thouls. Resolution of that cliffhanger has to wait though because we have a Special Episode for today!
Today is Boss Day. I wanted to collect all their stats in one spot so they're not scattered all over various reports. Note: I am NOT including optional bosses like the King Rappy or Re Faze in this list (at least not right now - maybe in the future).
( Read more... )In part two of Rune's solo journey he made it to Ladea Tower, encountered the wall that is Gy-Laguiah and had a rather easy fight against Zio thanks to some advance planning and preparation. After doing the whole run around to acquire the Landale, during which nothing of note happened to our intrepid magician, I had to figure out if Rune was actually ready to face Dark Force.
